Statute of limitations where a suspect cannot be found
my grandmother was a victim of a home robbery. and after 3 years one thief got caught. and is serving a year behind bars. however the other person involved is still not found. my question is, do the charges get dropped after a while? is there a time limit for the other person to be found? i was curious as to how this works. any info would be appreciated. thank you! you may email me with your reply.

    Re: statue of limitations question
is there actually charges filed against another known person?

If so, those charges and the subsequent warrant for thier arrest will live on, in many cases, forever, if the charging court lets them.

The SoL is for the time allowed to charge with a crime. Once the charges are filed, the SoL stops for that purpose.
