Charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Cannabis
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida
Alright so I was recently charged with two accounts of possession of drug paraphernalia (893.147.1-B) and one account of possession of less than 20grams of cannabis (893.13.6B) I wasnt arrested but was issued a court date. This is not my first offense i was convicted with possession of cannabis when i was 16 went through a diversion program it got erased but I also got charged with 3 misdemeanors when I was 18 non of them drug related. Breaking and entering unoccupied structure, trespassing, and grand theft of a fire extinguisher ( yes, a fire estinguisher, cops will try and get you for anything) but my question is what will happend when i go to court I got off probation a lil less then 6months ago after being on for a year. I cant afford a lawyer or any of those people I want to know what will happend if i just show up and plead guilty and not try to fight it because there is no point they will always win but since I have a criminal record does that mean i could face going back on probation and/or jail time. i already know im going to be bombarded with fines thanks in advance for any info anyone can give me.
Re: Charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Cannabis
What makes you think that stealing a fire extinguisher is something you should be able to steal with impunity. They easily can run more than the $300 threshold that makes it grand theft. Jail is a possibility and probation is likely. If you are truly indigent rather than just unwilling to spend your money on a lawyer, ask for a public defender. I definitely would want to CONSULT as to the implications with a lawyer before lying down and pleading guilty.
