Can My Employer Share Personal Financial Information with Co-Workers
My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: New Jersey

I filed for Chapter 7 a few months back and I had to take a few days off from my job for court and meetings with my attorney. I told my boss the reason for my absences so he knew it was not something I could prevent. (they are very strict with attendance). This morning one of my close coworkers, who was the only other person who knew about the ch7, told me that someone asked him "is it true that (ME) is bankrupt?"

Is my boss allowed to discuss these private conversations with other employees? if not what action should I take to see that it stops?

That is not "personal financial information" some regulations protect. It may be facts you do not want disclosed regarding your finances. They are not "private" because it is a public filing. I do not think you can force anyone to not talk about it.
