Emancipation, in the very rare cases that it is granted, comes into being when the minor is living on her own and paying 100% of her own expenses. That does not mean living with a friend or relative and paying a token rent; it means that you are paying the full market rate for rent in your area; utilities; food; clothing; medical care; insurance; transportation; staples; school fees and supplies; and all the other incidentals of life, while still going to school and getting better than average grades. If you are not doing this, then you are not getting emancipated. I don't care what you came on the website to hear - that is the legally correct answer.

And you are right; you need parental permission to join the armed forces or marry.

There is no easy way to emancipation. It's hard. It's supposed to be hard. It's intended to be hard. Emancipation is not going to happen except in the most extreme of cases. Nothing you have posted so far suggests that you are in any way qualified to be one of the extremely few (think 1% of the minors who apply) who succeed in having the court approve your emancipation.

Thank you. I think i'll just sit still andwhere finish school where i am. I've been doing pretty okay where i am i just don't want to get introuble with the law for not living with my parents and put into dss custoday.
If someone finds out i am on my own already could i get introuble?

Being able to research the issue herself would require she be responsible enough to meet the requirements and have the ability to obtain emancipation at the legal age.

    Yes, you do.

Then surely you read the stickied threads, and thus also the laws of your state for emancipation. So help us out here, and tell us about how you propose to convince a court that you have an actual need for emancipation, how you will prove your "ability to function as an adult", how you will prove a stable and reliable source of income sufficient to fully support yourself, how you will prove the "stability of the [your] living arrangements", your "proper and lawful plan for adequately providing for the [your] needs and living expenses", how you will convince the court that you "fully understand[] the ramifications of" emancipation, how you will convince the court that emancipation is in your best interest, and anything else you think might be persuasive in court.

If your parents kick you out, you immediately call 911. Or before they kick you out, you talk to your school counselor and will likely be placed in a Foster Home.

Do you have atleast $1800 per month income right now? Didn't think so. Because that is what will be required (along with parental co-signers) just to get an apartment. And state laws ban what kind of jobs a minor can do, and how many hours a minor can work.

How are your parents "always threatening to kick you out" if you don't live with them?

Do you understand that "similar" information may not yield the same answers?

In this particular case, it does not affect your eligibilty for emancipation but it might affect how the Child Protective people might see your situation and whether you could get into legal trouble for living away from home. If you are not willing to provide accurate details, there is no point to posting.

    Wait. What?

You're really making no sense now. Please post your situation as is, so that we can give you the information you need. (and yes, you do need it.)
