    How to Obtain an Abandonment Order on My Sons Father
    My question involves a child custody case from the State of: California......My son is 3 he has lived with me since birth his father has never been alone with him every we were never married but he signed the baby's birth certificate we've never gone to family court but a child support order is actively in effect he hasn't paid no child support since October of 2012. He's an violent drunk with a record and I've been recently informed that he lost custody of his oldest son because of child abuse I want sole custody legal and physical of my son and need help direction in how to go about it the correct way. What is the courts definition of child abandonment

    Sole custody won't mean that Dad has no rights. If you want the court to terminate his rights, your best bet is to speak with an attorney.

    If you want sole legal and physical custody of the child, go file a paternity action and ask for it. You don't need to prove abandonment for that.
