When Will a Court Authorize Relocation to a Different State
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: West virginia

Hello I am currently a student. I will be graduating in may. I have an amazing 4 year old daughter. I recently got engaged to my finacé who lives in Florida (I'm in West Virginia). Her father and his family are not people I want to stay around. I want to move to Florida after graduation in may to provide a better life for her. my fiance adores her. I have had a very rocky relationship with her father and his family. They barely call to see her and often make empty promises. I had to have, a now expired, protection order against him because he threatened my life. That occurred about 4 years ago. So in summary, they don't call much or see her and his mom says that when she is there he pays little attention to her. However, there was no parental plan for custody after I was granted temporary custody for the protective order. I know that I have to establish custody and apply to get approval to move. I just need advice on all of this or things I should do!!!!

    Here's the actual statute: http://www.legis.state.wv.us/wvcode/...=9&section=403

It does look like you're moving in good faith (as opposed to moving simply to thwart the other parent's access to the child). Just follow the requirements.
