How to Prove a Car Accident Was Staged
So about 2 weeks ago i was driving in the Boston area. I was stopped in traffic on the right lane of a two lane street. The last car on the left lane was a bit ahead of me, lets call it car S for scam or scum. The street we were on was slightly sloped and we were driving up hill. Car S suddenly started to roll backwards and to the right hitting my car on the front left corner. She claims that her car, which was a rental, turned off on her and she was unable to get to the e-brake fast enough. I took her information, but she did not take mines. There was no damage to my car but I called the rental company to let them know as well as my insurance company just to be safe and avoid a scam, however that did not help prevent it. Today i got a call from my insurance that the lady in car S got a lawyer and is claiming she had a passenger who is injured.

I'm hoping my insurance will sort it all out but I'm concerned i might end up needing to get a lawyer myself. There were banks and stores about 30 feet away on both sides of the road so I'm hoping it was all caught on camera and that the insurances gets them in their investigation.

Any idea what the cost of lawyer for something like this would cost? I know that if i was the one making a claim the layer would take a percentage of the award, but what about my case, im on the defense.

    any advice is appreciated.

so she picked your name out of the phone book?

you let your insurance company do what they do and you continue on with life unless your insurance company tells you otherwise.

I'm assuming she must have taken my plate number and used that for her claim, all i know is that she did not ask me for my license or any information.
