At What Age Can a Juvenile be Charged as an Adult
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois
At what age can an individual in Illinois be tried in the court of law for committing an offense?
I cannot find it, but I believe I came across an article that states that if an individual under the age of 13 commits a crime, say assault or battery (not murder or theft), then the individual is not tried as having been culpable. Is this right? Is there a statute to all of this? Also, as I believe it true, how long has this been part of Illinois law? Since the 1990s?
