Emancipation Help. Long and Complicated Situation
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Nevada. My dad lives in California and is an alcoholic, and an abusive one. I have had restraining orders on him recently. I live with my mother in Nevada, she is very much bipolar. Although she will not be test and/or treated for it, i have plenty of people who can & will back me up on this whom are over 18 years old. She is mentally abusive and I never know how she is going to act towards me every minute. I am constantly tip-toeing around her. I am 16 years old and wish to get emancipated because of this. My mom has kicked me out on multiple occasions but then calls me crying asking me to come home & when I say no she will say she will call me in as a run away. I know the law states that you have to be living away from family & must have a job with a stable income. I have places I can live & I am applying for jobs but literally no one is hiring in my small town. I need help. I cannot live like this anymore. i just don't know how I can get emancipated in my situation. :wallbang::confused::grumpy:

You can't. Nothing you have posted is grounds to emancipate a minor.

You can't. Nothing you have posted is grounds to emancipate a minor.

However, it could be grounds for you to be removed from your parents and placed into foster care...and if things are really that bad, it might be the best thing for you.

So, you need to decide just how bad things really are. If they are honestly that bad, then you need to go talk to your school guidance counselor.
