Getting Permission to Move to Another State During Custody Proceedings
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: California

I'm 22 years old with a three year old. Her father 21 wasn't and isn't in her birth certifate. I just recently decided to put him on child support so he decided to put me on child custody to take her away from me. We went to see a mediator he has been in and out of her life. The mediator decided to let him take her every other Saturday night. And now I would like to move states for about 7 months tops. How do I do that is that possible.
P.S. He never spends time with her and does not pay the child support

    Disagreeable
Re: We Have Only Seen a Mediator. I'm the Mom Want to Go Out of State for Couple of M
Unless you are planning on giving him greater visitation and paying transportation back and forth. I do not see the court allowing relocation of the child.

    Child support is irrelevant here.

California is actually moveaway-friendly; the burden of proof would be on Dad to show the court that the move is not in the best interests of the child.

But with that being said, how often does he see her and what are your reasons for moving?
