Selling Maps to Where Drugs Are Located
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

    Hello everyone,

This is my first post, so please excuse me if it's a stupid question or somehow violates forum rules.

I'm just curious what someone would be charged with if they sold maps to where drugs were located. Would that still be grounds for distribution and/or trafficking, since the person doing this would not ever be in possession of drugs? I know someone who thinks he's being clever and tells me he can't get arrested, but I know it must be a violation of some law.

Nice try. 893.147 Use, possession, manufacture, delivery, transportation, advertisement, or retail sale of drug paraphernalia. Drug Paraphernalia as described under 893.145 covers that.

Yikes! I wouldn't worry about getting arrested. I'd be worried about getting murdered.

by "where drugs are located" you mean what neighborhoods to go to to find drug dealers? any crime map will tell you that.

or do you mean specific addresses of crack houses?

because handing out information like that is a good way to get found brutally killed by a drug dealer.

I suggest your friend send a copy of the first printing to the local police for an accuracy review prior to setting up his distribution network. LOL

By "Where the drugs are located" I mean something like "Entrance to X neighborhood behind the stop sign under the rock" etc. Sounds like previous responses covered that as being illegal though. Thx guys

if you are telling a person where they can actually find drugs you stashed, yes, that is quite illegal. Your attempt to remove yourself from the actual distribution is not going to work with that. You are still selling the drugs. Just because you "sell them a map" rather than saying "it's under the rock by the stop sign" is immaterial.

That's only a misdemeanor though isn't it? You seem to be lending some creedence to his plan. If he's moving a moderate volume of Schedule I or II narcotics & gets charged with a misdemeanor that means the plan is actually beneficial. Please this idiot can't be right. He's a huge moron, and if it turns out he had a valid good idea . . . I'll be like this -> :(

This business plan is fatally flawed for non-legal reasons. The consumers of illegal drugs have no trouble finding them as it is. The money they would spend on a map would buy them more crack/meth/heroin/weed.
