    Ticket for Speeding, 63 in a 40
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Mecklenburg County, NC.
I am 16 and have had my license 4 months. What are the typical repercussions for this citation? G.S 20-140(J1) and G.S. 20-140(b) The citation does not have fine, but is mandatory Court appearance.

    I can't find a (J1) in the statute but G.S. 20-140 (b) is Reckless Driving.

    http://www.ncleg.net/EnactedLegislat.../GS_20-140.pdf

It's a class 2 misdemeanor punishable by up to 60 days in jail and a fine up to $1000 (court costs and fees likely added on top of that) and a possible license suspension of up to 12 month with reinstatement fees and surcharge costs.

Reckless Driving on a limited provisional license could also result in a revocation until you are 18. I haven't found anything specific on that except for the following article:

In other words, 4 months licensed, already driving like a bloody moron, you can expect the judge to have absolutely no sympathy for you and he's likely to want to get you off the road as fast as possible and for as long as possible.
