Can You Get Emancipated Without a Driver's License
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Oklahoma
I'm 16 years old and am at the end of my tolerance at home. My dad and I argue day and night and I want to get out before I either permanently hurt myself or runaway, but he will insult me and talk behind my back all the time. He also sets rules that only apply to me and not my brother and sisters! My mom doesn't do anything about it and even is the same way a majority of the time. I have a friend who is 17, 18 in march who has already said that when he gets his own place I can live with him. He's my best friend and he was the one who recommended me this option instead of running away.

Honestly there is a few more things that make me want to end it because of my dad but I'm not going to go into too much detail and try and just get to the point.

My problem is that I don't have even a permit, I'm currently enrolled (taking my first tests Monday) to get my GED so school isnt a problem, it's the no license. My parents have been keeping me from getting it and their exact reason was "we don't want you to be independent and no getting a job until you're 19." I don't get it! Someone please let me know if I can apply for emancipated even if I don't have a drivers permit, I'm desperate!

You need to read the stickied threads. You have given no indication that you are in any way qualified to emancipate.

You have not even begun to come close to any standard required for emancipation. Turning 18 is your best option. OK does not have a statutory emancipation law.

In any case, OK's limited emancipation laws only permit a minor to sign contracts - they do not give the minor authority to move out.
