Can I Get Emancipated and Live With My Grandmother
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Florida

I am 16 years old. I live with both my parents in the state of Florida. I have a terrible relationship with my mother especially. Her and I constantly butt heads and it's only escalating. She is constantly yelling at me , and literally I am doing nothing wrong. I do my best to stay out of her way. There is no way to please her. She has me under a lot of
Pressure. There have been a handful of instances in the past year or so where she has hit me, and left bruises. My dad does nothing about any of this. He simply succumbs to whatever she wants. I am honestly so strung out. She has driven me to the point where I am seriously depressed and I feel I'm going to act out violently. I do not want to be like her as an adult. At 15 she moved out because her mom was the way she is. She moved in with a family friend and was taken in with open arms. The woman who took her in raised me till I was 5 and is considered my grandmother. Best case scenario I would like to move in with her, four hours away. But whatever the end result may be, as long as I don't have to see my mother, it's fine with me.

If your parents give you permission to move in with someone else, you may.

If your parents do not give you permission to move in with someone else, you may not.

    It really is that simple.

When you called CPS about her hitting you, what happened?

We don't emancipate abused children, we find them other custodial placement. If you are abused contact a counselor at school, or call one of the abuse hotlines. Florida's is here: http://www.myflfamilies.com/service-.../abuse-hotline. Otherwise, the national one is 800-4-A-CHILD.
