Assaulted at by a Co-Worker
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Colorado
I'm a woman and work for a City municipality. Last year, a co-worker's admin asked me for information. I gave it to her and she came back and said that her boss said it was wrong. I told her it wasn't wrong and perhaps her boss didn't know if he was asking for the right info or not. He was in the hallway on the other side of my cube and came flying into my cube. I jumped out of my chair and there were two other people in my cube, an IT guy and this man's admin. He pushed up against me and chest-butted me twice and told me he would have my job. I immediately went to my boss who went to this guy's boss. My boss said he would send him to anger management classes and nothing ever was done. I could not go over my boss's head and go to HR or he would have fired me for insubordination. Another incident has arisen this week with the same guy. I went to HR about him and was written up for insubordination. I don't know if anything will be done about this psycho. What kind of other action should I take if any and with who? He has been promoted to superintendent of our division and leads by bullying, intimidation and threatening his workers.
thanks for any advice.
Re: Assaulted at by a Co-Worker
You posted this as a criminal law issue, not as an employment issue. You apparently chose not to make a police report last year, when this occurred, and if you now choose to make a report that delay (along with the nature of the contact) would likely factor into whether a prosecutor would opt to pick up the case.
