Thanks for the replies. I apologize for getting off base about my question. It just appears that there isn't a solution to my problem.
I am sure I read somewhere that my liberties cannot be violated without due process. I am also sure that I read somewhere that
eighteen is the legal age of adult.

I came here to see if there is some legal grounds for me to take legal action against my family for refusing to acknowledge me as an adult.
I guess the answer is "no"

I guess since I suffer from mental illness my legal rights pretty much fly out the window. I do not know what I will do about this situation.
I do know getting picked up won't help me fight for my rights as an adult.

Thanks and goodbye. I won't be back to post or reply.

    Forgive me. I'm momentarily confused.

The only person who is holding you back appears to be your good self. You cannot force your family to do anything - but then again, you don't need to. You're a legal adult and as such can do whatever the heck you want.

    Your liberties aren't being violated.

The legal answer to your question is no, you cannot be emancipated as an adult. Since you are over the age of 18, and since you indicate that you are not under anyone's guardianship, you are already emancipated and there is nothing a court can do for you.

That you allow your family to "force" you back is on no one but yourself. If you stood firm and said no, I'm not going back, there would nothing they could do about it. If you back down and go with them, that's not because they "forced" you, that's because you choose to do what they said.
