Will the Police Make a Runaway Go Home
If you are 16 in the state of North Carolina are you allowed to runaway. If you do runaway what can the cops do and what can your parents do. What if your are leaving to go live with an older sister or brother.

If you are 16 in any state you are not allowed to run away. If you run away either the cops or your parents can drag you back home and in some cases throw you in juvie. If you are going to live with an older sister or brother and they allow you to stay there against your parents' wishes the older sister or brother can go to jail.

It does not matter why you run away. They will detain and return you the first time. they can also charge anyone, including a sibling, who harbors you.

You can (and will) be picked up by law enforcement, you could end up with charges yourself, and anyone harboring you can face felony charges themselves.

I'm guessing you don't want your siblings to be spending time in prison.
