Defaulting on Student Loans in Another Country
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: California

I am a foreigner living in California. If I defaulted on the equivalent of a federal student loan in another first world country, and do not ever plan to return to said country, what could possibly happen to me while living here?

Is it possible for me to get extradited from the US? Will they be able to sue me for payment in the courts here? The loan amount is in the lower-mid six figures.

    Thank you for any help!

    Disagreeable

Certainly it is possible. It is also possible it could result in a violation severe enough to have your status here revoked.
