Because that is what the law says. Sorry you don't like the law, but I didn't write it - I just tell you what it says.

And if this is the maturity level you show when someone tells you a truth you don't want to hear, I can understand why your parents don't believe you mature enough for marriage.

Im sorry Im being immature? Im looking for information, and all youre doing is giving me simple answers, and answering with a rude tone. Youre on a forum section designed to help young teens, and youre acting like we are all dimwitts. So yeah, sorry Im acting immature. And for your information, I like the law very much. It helps those in need, and puts away criminals.

Well thanks for giving more information than the last guy. And yeah, there are people who have no interest for their kids. And in return are morons. Hence why we want to be emancipated. However, custody situations have changed, and we are both stuck with over-controlling guardians trying to take "proper" care of their now dependent residents, because their other kids turned out to be failures. But hey, maybe these last two years can reverse all those years of "improper" nurture. Dude, youre on a forum section dedicated to helping young teens with family issues. Dont be a dick, youre gonna have some poor kid kill himself.

The only person I see being a dick is YOU, joeya. Take the next two years to GROW UP!

Proof positive that you're nowhere near mature enough to be living anywhere other than under the control of grown-ups.

So how would it help you if I told you yes, you can go out and get married and the law will emancipate you, and then you went out and discovered that it wasn't true?

The fact of the matter is, no matter how much you want to get married and/or emancipated, the law REQUIRES that your parentS and, if applicable, legal guardianS approve it, and if they don't, you WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE MARRIED. That is the law. That is the law no matter how much you don't like it.

They not only have to sign papers, in both states they need to give their approval IN PERSON.

Dude. I dont need proof that Im not mature. Because the matter of fact is that Im 16, and still growing. But Ive also raised myself starting at a very early age. And I may not be mature, but Im a hell of a lot more mature than the person bullying on teens, LOOKING FOR HELP, but are left to wallow in self pity and despair and pity. And who say grown-ups. Youre not six.

Again, I appreciate the law. Without the law, the world would be in anarchy and chaos.

Oh, youre right. Im sorry. Will you teach me how to "grow up"? I mean, you must know best since yelling at kids in need of help is what you do best. Maybe thats what I should do! I could always got o an orphanage and yell at them... But then again, I might run into you and that would just be plain awkward.

Okay, fine. You're the most mature thing since Cheddar.

But that still does not change the fact that the law does not allow you to do what you want to do, unless both sets of parents/legal guardians, plural, show up IN PERSON and sign their approval.

You can whine as long as you like about how your life will be ruined if you're not allowed to do what you want; it isn't going to change the law one iota.

Pff. I know my life wont be ruined. Now, is there any other way to become emancipated? I believe you have to be 17 to join the military, is that correct?

It is, and 17 year old applicants also require parental permission. Nor does the military approve of early marriages.

In order for a judge to grant emancipation, you have to prove that you can provide a stable income, correct?
