Can You Become Emancipated at the Age of 16 in Arkansas
Im am currently in a long distance relationship. My S.O. wants to be together, and the only way of doing so is either one of us getting emancipated. She lives in Indiana, I live in Arkansas. I looked up the laws for getting emancipated in Indiana, and it seems near impossible. It would be preferred if she was the one to be emancipated, but either way would be fine. Both of us do not suffer from abuse. Her parents are divorced, and she lives with her aunt. Both my parents are divorced. I live my mother, and my dad lives in Texas. (Just added that in case its helpful)

No court is going to emancipate a minor in order for that minor to shack up with his/her boyfriend.
Are either of you completely capable of supporting yourself fully?

She is, but we're not looking for a way to get emancipated by the court. I was wondering if I could get emancipated automatically by marriage.

And are all of the parents/legal guardians in agreement, willing to give permission?
Re: Can You Become Emancipated at the Age of 16 in Arkansas
One of my parents are, and both of hers are. But her legal guardian is her aunt. And mine is the one whom apposes it.
Re: Can You Become Emancipated at the Age of 16 in Arkansas
Then it's not going to happen.

Re: Can You Become Emancipated at the Age of 16 in Arkansas
Because you cannot get married without parental permission. If BOTH sets of parents and legal guardians do not agree, then it's not happening. Period.
Re: Can You Become Emancipated at the Age of 16 in Arkansas
Youre a will dick, you know that right? Why do they need both parents? Do they sign papers, or what?
Re: Can You Become Emancipated at the Age of 16 in Arkansas
Because all guardians are required by law to consent to the marriage of two minors. They have show up with ID and consent in person.
The people willing to let two young teenagers marry before they reach the age of majority are either not looking out for the best interests of said teens, complete morons, or both.
