Collecting a Reward for Providing Information to the Police
My question involves police investigations for missing persons in the State of: Tennessee.

Sorry about the previous post concerning police conduct.
    I simply overlooked the topic.

If I provide information that leads to finding a missing person for which there is a reward, how can I best ensure that I actually get the posted reward/rewards?

    Use a crime stoppers program.

Perhaps the true reward is telling what you know and helping someone else.

It's not all about the money of course...is it?

I appreciate your position on your moral convictions; however, the question is not about "what" the reward may be. The question is about how to make sure you receive a reward that is being offered.
    Thanks.

I'm sure once you've been as helpful as you possibly can be, you will receive instruction (if appropriate).

    You're welcome!

You need to read and follow exactly what the reward offer states. Often times it might say something about a tip leading to the "arrest and conviction" of the responsible parties. There's not a lot you can do about the "arrest and conviction" part except to give as much information as you can, and hope.

So, you would do the right thing ONLY for the money?

I gotta use this one in my ethics class!

    Jesus.
    What's your problem?
I'm surprised you can even get a job teaching with such a one-sided cynical outlook.

The money has been put up by the state.
What's wrong with making sure you get the reward if you solve the case?
Is that not what the reward money is for; to bring forward information?

I'm glad I'M not in your ethic class.
I would consider it wasted money.

There are those among the population who are more concerned with doing the moral thing than they are with being paid, and who would consider it ethically questionable to withhold information unless they get paid for it.

Evidently in your world nothing matters but what you get out of it. How very, very sad. I'm glad I have a higher moral ethic than you do.

And the fact that you do not see the questionable ethics in your question is the very saddest thing of all.
