Child is Sleeping in a Parent's Bed
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: ohio

The father of my 5 year old son allows him to sleep in his bed every night. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

    Not a darned thing.

What Dad does during his parenting time is his business.

Many folks think its quite endearing. What do you think is wrong with it? Check out the concept of co-sleeping.

It's difficult to get him to sleep in his bed when he comes back.

You can always talk to father about it and come to some sort of an agreement, but you will not get a court to mandate that a young child not sleep in a bed with a parent.

I would have to say that it can depend on the judge, and the full factual context can affect what a judge might do. Some judges really don't like any form of co-sleeping. That's a personality thing, much more than "what the law says".

In addition, if there happens to be a GAL who has some concerns about it, its best that the father listen to the GAL's concerns.

I am pretty sure this "mom" is actually dad...hoping for a different answer than the one he received on another forum.

Yep think your right used a different name over there as dad. But now has also posted under this name over there as mom, both posts are where mom is trying to stop shared parenting, because households do things different.

In the post as dad, there is a GAL who has issues with the child sleeping in dads bed.

I'm not sure if the poster is mom or dad, but they are posting as both in hopes of getting different answers.

Oh for pete's sake. Y'know, it's vital pieces of information like that we need to know.

Is it really that hard to keep the story straight? I mean, really?

Unless there is hanky panky, or everyone is sleeping in the nude, I cannot see that a court would dare butt into something like that. The kid is 5 for Pete's sake!
