Non-Custodial Parent Has Never Paid Support
My question involves child support in the State of: Florida
Ok I have two children with my x-husband and during divorce he was ordered to pay child support in the state of Georgia. I have since moved to Florida and have been here 6 years. I have a open case but have never got any movement on it . He will not stay a a place long enough to find him he owe over 28,000 in arrears. I have turned to private support agencies and since he is in the state of Georgia that can't go after him I am at a loss of what to do and would very much like to collect this money for my children. What can I do?
Re: Non-Custodial Parent Has Never Paid Support
Find him, find assets belonging to him that are subject to garnishment or execution, then garnish or execute against those assets.
Re: Non-Custodial Parent Has Never Paid Support
That is easier said then done I can't find him he brake leases and moves every 6 months or so.
Re: Non-Custodial Parent Has Never Paid Support
Then there's not a whole lot you can do other than hire a PI and/or a forensic accountant to dig through his financial records.
Unfortunately, the fact remains that some parents will do just about anything to avoid paying CS.
Re: Non-Custodial Parent Has Never Paid Support
Do not turn over the child support debt to a private collection agency.
