Georgia Emancipation
Ok so here's the deal.
I'm 17 years old as of October 10th.
I currently live in Georgia. However I wish to change that.
I live with my mother, but we don't get along. We are always
fighting. She wants me to move out at the end of this year.
Which means I would have to live with my dad.
Well... I don't want to move in with him.
My friend and her mother want me to move in with them and go to school
there. But in order for me to do that I have to get my mom to let me.
She is against it.
If I were to move out with my out parents say so could the law do anything?
Should I get emancipated?
Some help would be nice.
Thanks,
<3 Not.Sure

Re: Emancipation...?
If your going to be emancpated then you must be self supporting are you? Also check your state laws on subject some states dont even have emancepation laws.
thinking out loud
why does it seem there are more threads from frustrated teens over emancepation than anything else? Oh for the hard (cough) time sof beinga tenn when I knew everything and my parents were always wrong!

Re: Emancipation...?
Georgia has no emancipation statute. You may wish to discuss your situation with a guidance counselor at school.
