16 Year Old Girl Pregnant by 19 Year Old Boy
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: North Carolina and New Jersey

Hi I am wondering I had sex with the man i am currently pregnant by when i was 15 and he was 18 and i turned up pregnant. He has recently turned 19 and my birthday is on september 4 I will be turning 16. I am currently living in the state of North Carolina but the actions took place in New Jersey and I am due in febuary of 2014 will he be charged with anything since I read that if the guy is 4 years older than the girl they cant press charges and i was 15 he was 18 now that he is 19 and im turning 16 and due in feb 2014 will he be able to be charged with anything?

How did you come to get pregnant in NJ?

If you crossed state lines to have sex with him, then Romeo has committed a Federal crime and can go to big boy Federal prison. For those charges, all that matters is that you were under 18.

15 and 18 is within NJ's "Romeo and Juliet" exception, in that otherwise consentual sex between a minor of at least 13 and a person less than 4 years older isn't specifically codified as a crime.

IF however, he held a position of authority, such as a teacher, counselor, or other adult somehow responsible for you, THEN he could be charged with a felony.

Don't forget to go after him for the child support that your child DESERVES.
