Passport Renewal While Abroad and Having a Pending Bench Warrant
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Indiana
I am no longer living in the US. While living abroad I became aware I that i had not paid for a ticket for felony driving while suspended. My wife is now pregnant and I am planning on going back the US to take care of this matter but not until after she gives birth. My passport is only valid for 4 more months. If I mail it to the local embassy for renewal and they dont approve it will I get my original passport back? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The Statement Department will work with local authorities to arrest people returning from overseas with outstanding warrants. Here is an example: http://jeffdownerbailbonds.com/2013/...issued-in-1979

Re: Passport Renewal While Abroad and Having a Pending Bench Warrant
It is common for the government to refuse to renew passports out of country, for wanted criminals. Your choice is to attempt to stay in a foreign country with no valid travel documents or return to the US to face your crimes. the government has determined aiding and abetting criminals abroad is not part of their mission.
