Sponsorship Agreement Clause
There is a clause in a Sponsorship Agreement which says: "upon completion of his COURSE of training and his obtainment of the Chief Engineer Class 1 Certificate of Competency serve the company the COMPANY for a period of five (5) years from the date of his appointment upon the terms and conditions of the employment of the COMPANY for the time being applicable to such post the TRAINEE is appointed to and shall be at the salary in accordance with the scales of salaries applicable to such post for the time being in force for the COMPANY'S staff."
As stated in the above clause, am I right to say that after the completion of the Chief Engineer Class 1, the trainee has to complete his five years employment with the company, before he can be released from the sponsorship agreement?

It seems reasonable to infer that your question does not involve the United States. You need to speak to a lawyer in whatever country is involved.
