Does Getting Married Emancipate a Pregnant Teenager
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Utah

I am 16 and pregnant what are my rights and what's rights do I have over my baby? I am also getting married in August does marriage emancipate me? If so does that mean I can get a credit card or what can I do if I do get emancipated? And if I am pregnant and I feel unsafe in my house and I feel my babies health is being threatened can I legally leave? What rights do I have at 16?

At 16, you have the right to make decisions about your pregnancy care and the care of your child.

Marriage in your state at your age requires the consent of your parents. They must submit a signed consent form to the County Clerk of Courts. Marriage will emancipate you.

For what? The divorce? The custody issues? When the boyfriend no longer wants to support the 16 year old? When the credit card doesn't get paid and the 16 year old wants to find out hot to file for bankruptcy? Wait... no bank in the WORLD would give a child a credit card so it couldn't be that. Lemme get back to guessing...

when she wants to go back home because she figures out being an adult sucks but then her parents won't let her come back? Parenting advice? My infamous give the baby a frozen carrot advice for when they're teething?

    Disagreeable

Of course not!!! For when she is 19, knocked up with child number 2, broke and he kicks her to the curb for another 16 year old.

Every time I see a 16 year-old talking about getting married in the near term, I want to find the kid's parents and beat some sense into them. With a crowbar.

WHAT DROOLING, MOUTHBREATHING LACKWIT LETS THEIR 16 YEAR-OLD GET MARRIED?

I notice that this particular 16 year old has been very, very quiet since she was told her parents had to consent in writing, in person, before she could get married.
