Can I Get Emancipated and Live With My Sister
My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Indiana

My name is Niki, and I'm 16. i moved out here due to a situation i felt uncomfortable in living with my mother. I've lived with my father for a year and a half. i have had a job since may of 2012, i quit and got a new job in January, beyond groceries and utilities currently i pay for everything i need/want down to toothpaste and deodorant. my stepmother is less than welcoming, I've already bought my own car i pay the insurance, i also pay for gas and any repairs it's had or may need. I've bought and i pay for my own phone, and the tension between my stepmother and i is unruly. I've become depressed again from the emotional setting in this house and i have an opportunity to get an apartment with my 20 year old stepsister and her boyfriend. My dad and step mother work out of town constantly and I'm responsible for getting myself to and from work while they're away. I've maintained straight A's through school, i have a very strong work ethic and am damn near living independently. Is emancipation something that is a realistic solution to my discrepancies? If not, are there any suggestions as to how i can solve this, or should i just continue to suck it up. i need a third party opinion :/

    Re: a Good Option
Indiana has no general emancipation statutes. They only have them relative to adjudication of juvenile delinquents and as a process of child in need of service actions.

you have no chance at emancipation.

Indiana does not even have a law authorizing emancipation of minors.

If your father gives you permission to live with your sister and her boyfriend, you may.

If he does not give you permission, then you suck it up until you're 18.

Emancipation is not a realistic option, and the only alternate solutions I can think of, I think I can safely say you would dislike even more than your current situation.

Please be aware that even if your father does give you permission to live with your sister, he can withdraw that permission at any time up to your 18th birthday.
