    Student visa and criminal charge
    hi
1)i am a student on an F1 visa my visa expires on september 1st 20
    2) I got a misdemeanor charge against me in march it happened in the US, was my first offense
    3) I want to get married to am american citizen

Now i have a couple of questions concerning this
Will this misdemeanor charge be a problem against me when I want to get married to an american citizen?

Will it be better if I take the person to my own country and then get married over there and then apply trough him to come here?

how will this misdemeanor charge affect me?

    Misdemeanor Charge
How the charge will affect you depends upon its nature, and the possible penalty. You would likely benefit from consulting with an immigration lawyer to devise your best strategy for successfully obtaining citizenship, and to discuss the specifics of that charge.

    Dear Krasy,

It is very important to know the nature of the criminal act. Crime involving moral turpitude and/or Aggravated Felony may present the biggest concern for your adjustment of status and/or naturalization, later on. It is not advisable to leave this country before adjusting your status.
