Accidentally Clicking Through to a Site With Unlawful Content
Just got a quick question that may sound stupid, but I need to be sure. So I was having an online debate with a guy about the new internet privacy laws. He told me that the Australians had blocked a number of respectable websites when cracking down on illegal material, and to look for "Australia CP Blacklist". So I did. I clicked on a Wikileaks page that was the first result, thinking that it'd be safe. However, I was shocked to find that it contained links to addresses to some seriously strange looking sites. I exited the site right away without clicking on anything else. Should I be worried? I was absolutely horrified to find this page, but here in the UK there's always a major crackdown on people who look at this sort of stuff and you hear about people who were arrested even though they'd simply stumbled across something. It was seriously naive of me and I know it was, but I didn't expect that to come up from a site like Wikileaks. I'm only 19 and I suffer badly from Anxiety, and this has been keeping awake all night. Please help!

    Thanks

This is a U.S. forum, so we're not in a position to tell you what might happen in the U.K.

Typically, though, the cases that are prosecuted involve either an exchange of illegal content or the use of a credit card. I don't follow your nation's news closely, but that's what has occurred in the news articles I'm recalling, including the one where a certain famous rock star got ensnared.

Okay. It was just I was panicking and didn't know where to turn. I just wasn't thinking. I didn't actually access any actual material, just a site which contained links to those sites. Certainly shook me up a bit.
