Minor's Rights to Participate in Same-Sex Relationships
I'm wondering if it is legal or illegal in Rochester, New York for a 19 year old female and a 15 year old female to date. There relationship is only emotional, no sex is involved. They got together when the one was 17 and the other was just turning 15.
Re: Same-Sex Relationships
You posted this as a question about marriage. Do you understand that there is a difference between dating somebody and marrying them?
If your question is not about marriage, take the ten seconds necessary to find the proper forum and post there.
Re: Same-Sex Relationships
I don't know what the right one would be. So if you didn't want to help, you didn't have to respond. I need help with this question so I posted it here and some other places. So what its not about marriage its still about dating and you have to date before you get married. Maybe they planned on getting married eventually. Who knows.

Not that one party is 15, they're not.
Re: Same-Sex Relationships
Okay no there not getting married now. But they don't even know if its legal for them to date. They want to know that before anything else.
Re: Same-Sex Relationships
Perhaps "they" can come onto the site, pay attention and read the hundreds of threads pertaining to the issue.
Re: Same-Sex Relationships
You do realize the mathematical scenario you laid out for the ages is impossible don't you? Yes, it could be considered illegal, even if they were not looking for pearls. Her mom n dad can potentially have the 19 year old charged if she is instructed to stay away and does not.

If you're too lazy to be respectful of the forum, why do you think you deserve a response? As Dogmatique indicates, you're far from the first person to ask this type of question. You're just the first who couldn't figure out that the question has nothing to do with marriage.
Re: Same-Sex Relationships
I know for a fact that my question has nothing to do with marriage. I'm not stupid. I just couldn't figure out which one to put it under. This is one of the 4 places I put it under. Like forreal.

Okay well one of them is me. I'm that 15 year old girl. I'm not stupid and all of you need to stop talking to me like I am. I couldn't find the right place to put it. I put it in 4 different places. This is one of them.
Re: Same-Sex Relationships
It is legal if, and only if, your parents permit it. As long as you are under the age of 18, they are GOD as far as you are concerned and they have 100% say in who you may and may not see. The law does not give a damn who you "date". The law is only concerned with who you have sexual contact with. (Please note that sexual contact is NOT limited to intercourse. If you couldn't do it in the front pew of the church on Christmas morning with your parents sitting in the pew behind you, don't do it.) The law, however, gives your parents complete authority to tell you who you may and may not date, text, Facebook, walk to school with, etc. up to and including exchange smoke signals with.
The answer would be identical if you were asking about an opposite sex relationship.
FYI, putting your question in 4 different places violates the rules of the forum. Pick the one you think is most appropriate and stop there.
