Accused of Stealing Ex-Employer's Cellular Phone
Okay... I'll try and sum this up as efficiently as possible. An employee left his/her company a few months ago. Recently received a phone call from loss prevention claiming that he was in possesion of a stolen cell phone. He/she obtained the phone from a previous manager (through a trade) and was under the impression that it was purchased on ebay. The employee has a flawless criminal and work record and is eager to resolve the situation. What would be his best route? Would returning said phone incriminate him? What action can be taken (on either end)? Any advice is appreciated.
Re: Contact from Loss Prevention Officer of Former Employer
Who did he think was paying the phone bill for the phone every month? When he called people, what showed up on the caller ID?
Re: Contact from Loss Prevention Officer of Former Employer
The line itself was under the employee's name... the physical cell phone is the one that is alleged by lp to be the property of the employer.
