Thank you so much for your response you have no idea how much i appreciate it. I havent slept in 2 days and i'm still on suspension and havent heard anything yet. I've made a few mistakes like i sated above but i have had valid reasonings for every price override. It wasnt like i was just giving away stuff or marking items down to make numbers. I accept full responsibility and understand that i should be fired. I'm just afraid of jail and afraid of being charged a crazy number for the total $ i took off doing my price overrrides

I am sorry but what you did was really dumb...you honestly did NOT have a valid reason to reduce a 70.00 price to 40.00 just because you couldn't make change. I am quite sure that your bosses would have preferred to lose the sale completely rather than take that kind of hit.

However...the other guy got fired immediately. You got suspended. That tends to indicate that they are not viewing what you did as quite so serious as what the other guy did...or are at least willing to investigate more before they decide to fire you. Don't assume anything until they get back to you.

Since you are suspended....I would suggest looking for a new job.

Thanks for your input guys i appreciate it so much! Yez he was fired immediatly and i am still under suspension. It has been 3 days now. My dad actually called the companies hr department and talked to the woman who has the final say in what happens to me. He told her about my clean ecord and how my mistakes were honest and i never profited from any of the transactions. Im hoping and praying that works, he said she was polite and nice to him but she wasnt aloud to discuss my case with anyone else. I'm hoping i dont get charges pressed!!

And I'm hoping that your dad didn't make matters worse by calling. Employers do not like it when parents and spouses try to intercede.

Just employers want to see employees handle things themselves, not mommy or daddy calling.....

I only done it once .... it was a OSHA issue that was not being taken care of ... they did not fix it and I called and quit my spouse's job ...

1 yr later...several workers had babies with severe birth defects ... that I attributed to the OSHA violation ...

    chemical storage/handling issues

Best advice. Really though .. if they gave this authority to an employee then I doubt criminal charges could be filed ...
