Stole at Work

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia

Short Story: I was an employee at Walgreens. I had a few items and walked out. I was called back into the store by manager. I then paid for them and left. I now have a case pending against me with HR and will possibly have to pay restitution. I paid for the items, can a case still be made against me? Does anyone know how these things are handled by Walgreens? Are they civil? And do civil cases show up on background checks? And when a future employer calls them about my history can they disclose this information?

They can absolutely disclose the information. Yes, a case can still be brought against you.

Thank you for your answer, I really hope I didn't ruin my life in my momentarily loss of self. I do not have a history of this and I really can't explain the behavior. I can only pray and focus on a more positive future, or I will forever bury myself in my guilt.
