Can Parents Press Statutory Rape Charges If We Didn't Have Sex
ok I'm 98% positive my parents are NOT going to press charges and even if they did they would not have a case, but thats just where this gets me, I don't know and I'm curious, would they have a case? age of consent in MICHIGAN (my state) is 16, I am 4 months away from being 16 and my boyfriend is 3 months away from being 17, so technicaly he is 16 and I am 15, we were recently found by police in a car topless... WE DID NOT HAVE SEX, though there is really no way to prove that... if my parents wanted to press charges, and because the police found us and don't know what we were doing, would they have a case?:wallbang: :wallbang: :wallbang: :wallbang:
again state name is MICHIGAN, I'm 15 and the guy is 16.

You don't have to be caught having sex or proof that it occurred for the State of Michigan to convict your boyfriend of some form of sexual assault and or other crime even after you are over the age of consent.
Re: Can parents press statitory rape charges if we didn't have sex?
Do you know why that is? and also how could they convict someone without proof of anything?

They caught you in the car. What proof do you think they need?

Perhaps his time is better spent reading the law rather than breaking the law. You will both be older in four years and will have learned some very inportant life lessons.

I would say it's not your buisness but I asked for your help, silly me, but yeah I had to know, and now I know, I'm sure you think I'm stupid or just some silly kid but yeah, I make decisions and I live with every single one of them. I'm also glad my parents were more mad at me than they were at him so they aren't going to press charges.
