Caltrain Fare Evasion Citation

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

I got a Caltrain fare evasion citation (infraction) in Santa Clara county and got that thing dismissed. Can this citation/dismissal still show up in background checks (for jobs). I ask this because the case was handled in traffic court and it's my understanding that traffic court cases are not reported for criminal record database. (I understand that there are tons of background checks and each would show different results).

Depends on how exhaustive the search is. However, most databases won't show either infractions nor dismissed charges.
