My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
After reading this post from the website: http://www.expertlaw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51437 , I am still wondering about what can happen if parents don't agree with the relationship. I am 23 and the girl I am interested in is 17 and I have no authority/power over her, which seems to make a potential relationship with her legal. But, what happens if the parents find out and they are extremely mad about it and try to get me into trouble. Since she is not 18, they still have control over her. If they tell me I have to stop seeing their daughter then I need to listen because I could get into trouble for contributing to delinquency or other misdemeanor offenses.
But, what if they decide they want to go straight to the police instead of telling me to stay away? Will I get in trouble? Or is it similar to someone stalking me, I have to give a warning to stay away first?
Thanks,
I just want to be completely clear that there are absolutely ZERO legal ramifications for pursuing a 17 year old.
