Adult Kissing a Minor

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

Hi guys my name is Paul, I am 23 and recently at work I have met a girl the age of 17. We have been flirtatious and we talk on the phone from time to time but a few days ago after work we were out back and we kissed. I texted her that I did not want it but I said I liked it. Her dad saw the text and freaked out and called my bosses. Its kind of embarrassing but she turns 18 in September, I am just curious as of to if her step dad can press charges on me for just a kiss? We have never once gone on a date or anything like that so I am just beside myself. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

Her dad does not press charges. The DA presses charges.

It is quite unlikely that the DA will do so if everything is as you described. However, since she is still a minor, her Dad is God when it comes to who she may see or talk to. If he says stay away, you stay away. And if you don't, THEN the odds increase that the law will step in. If not with criminal charges, at least with a restraining order.

Your state is one of the most, if not THE most, aggressive about protecting minors from adults. You do not want to go there.

Your boss could fire you over this, and that would be legal.

Can't you get a date with a woman your own age?

You have to fool around with children?

Real men date women their own age.

Grow up and stay away from her.

Even when she is 18 it'll still be a serious character flaw if you keep at it.

I have dated women of all ages but YOU are right Jack. Its time to grow up. I made a mistake which is why I got on here and now I step away from the problem. Thank you guys for the feedback.
