The Other Parent Won't Answer the Phone for During His Parenting Time
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Minnesota
My daughter lives with her father in a small town 35 miles from me. The court order states that I am to have regular phone calls and Skype with her.
When we were fighting and going through court, he answered my calls to talk with her everyday, now that we aren't, it seems like he never answers and I talk to her once a week.
He says that he got a new phone through a different provider and it doesn't work in his town. He's now saying that it will be a few weeks to month or so before he transfers to a new provider :(
I know that it sounds petty, and I'm not aiming to get him in any trouble or anything, I just want to talk to my daughter.
Is there anything I can do?

You can file for contempt...even if you are not aiming to get him in any trouble that might be enough for him to get the problem resolved more quickly.
Re: Not Following Through
I'm guessing I need to go through an attorney and court for that? I just spent $6000 on attorney fees, so that's kind of out. :(

No, you don't have to have an attorney to file for contempt. You can study the rules for your county and represent yourself.
