Suspension License After Second Underage
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Wisconsin
Hey guys, I really need help/advice quick, seeing as my court date is at 2pm today. So here's the deal, I received my first underage in the state of Wisconsin at age 16, but this was before I had my license. Now I am 18, and last month I received another underage. From what I have heard is that once you turn 17 or 18 in Wisconsin your minor record is cleared. So would this most recent underage count as my first? I heard that 2nd offense underages in Wisconsin is now penalized by suspension of liscense for 90 days. Am I in the clear to just pay it off? Or should I worry about my license being suspended?
Re: Suspension License After Second Underage
The court will still be able to the prior charge. I would plan on walking or bicycling for a while.
Re: Suspension License After Second Underage
But if it's cleared off of my record why would it matter?
Re: Suspension License After Second Underage
"I have heard" are three of the most dangerous words in the English language. Where did you "hear" that it would automatically clear off your record?
Re: Suspension License After Second Underage
Even if it were cleared in the sense that it wouldn't show on a criminal history check, the court STILL has access to the record to determine that you are a PRIOR offender, so that it can treat this latest offense as such.
