Violating Visitations to Protect My Child
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Illinois
My daughter came back from her dad's last summer and said that her dad's stepson had touched her inappropriately, since we are in a custody battle I contacted my lawyer and let her know of what my daughter had said. She suggested that I have her see a therapist, well therapist said I had to file a report against him with the Abuse hotline in that state so I did that. Well long story short, my daughter told her therapist what had happened to her too and she sent a letter to my lawyer. But my lawyer hasn't done anything about it and has not returned my calls when I leave messages about what she is gonna do with the visits to her dad's with his stepson there. My daugther leaves in 3 days to go with her dad and I am soo afraid of what will happen to her since no one has done anything. Can I keep her because of not knowing what's going to be done about the stepson? I worry that more will happen to her and it seems that my lawyer doesn't care. Help, I don't have a lot of time..ugh!!

Something isn't adding up here.
The therapist is a mandatory reporter - they would have been legally obliged to report the incident if she did suspect abuse.
Perhaps neither the therapist nor your attorney sees any abuse?
