Charged Supervision Fees Not Included in Original Sentence
My question involves criminal law for the state of: wisconsin
if i was not sentenced to pay supervision fees in 1991, can i be required to pay supervision fees after my release from prison in 2002 in wisconsin? I have been paying these fees since 2002 but i find nothing in the law that makes the requirement retroactive. Can i recover the fees already paid ?
Re: Ex Post Facto Imposition of Supervision Fees in State of Wisconsin
Not understanding your question.
what I read is;
you were incarcerated and then released on supervised probation or parole. They charged the fees from day one of your release. You claim you were not liable for the fees because the court did not include that in your sentencing.
Do I have that correct?
If so, the requirement is not imposed retroactively. You did not accrue a fee due until your release.
