Your parents have to consent as well. And THEY have to file your emancipation petition, you can't.

Kick and cry all you want, the answer is still no.

Tara, You should have realized by this point in the thread how naive you and your friend are, when it comes to being an adult and adult issues. You both really need to focus on getting good grades, staying out of trouble and developing a plan to succeed independently in the world, in a few years. It is easy to shack up, get knocked up and throw your potential away. To many teens your age fall into that trap and do not wake up until they are living in a trailer, with 2 kids, no husband, no life and barely surviving on welfare.

If you don't believe us, walk into town and see a lawyer....

If you are being abused, talk to your school counselor about getting help.

Oh good lord, do NOT even think about getting married at the age of 15. The person you are now is not the person you will be in 3 or 5 or 10 years. Marriage is hard - it isn't just fun times and playing house. I shudder to think what would have happened if I had married the person I was dating at 19 or 21.

You're looking to go from one bad (in your teenage perception) situation right into another.

I am left chuckling at the timeworn frustration of the recently married. One spouse becomes seriously disenchanted with the other and complains that they are nothing like the person they were before the marriage. The appropriate response is that the campaigning is over and now you are living with the person you elected.
