Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, PC 484g
My question involves criminal law for the state of: CA

I use to live in Pasadena, CA before I moved to Hawaii. I received a letter from the City Prosecutor at the address where I use to live and my ex did not forward it to me until after the court date. I called the Courts and was told that a warrant had been issued and that I need to hire an attorney to get details about the case. I am very ill and not able to travel nor do I have the funds for the flight. This is the reason that I moved back to Hawaii to move in with family. I was told by an attorney that it would cost me between 5k and 7k for him to get details about the case. I would like to know is a warrant of this type good for ever or does it expire.

You do not get points for being a fugitive. You need to appear or have an attorney work on it.

You obviously are aware you committed the crime. The warrant will not expire. I am aware of another case where someone was just extradited to TX from HI. Usually, they just arrest and hold you for extradition for 2 or 3 weeks each time they come into contact with you. I suggest you come up with the money for the flight. Make it one way.

Warrants do not expire. It will remain, it will effect your ability to obtain gainful employment (since it is fraud/theft related, it is a crime of moral turpitude), and will make you ineligible for many government aid and loan programs. Oh, and you may find yourself frequently detained by the police even if CA will not extradite from Hawaii.
