18 year old moving out

I just turned 18 years old and I am a little confused. If you are 18 in New York state you are no longer considered a minor so does that mean I am allowed to live with my boyfriend (he is 20 and is still living with his mom) Can I just leave on my own or do I need parental consent to do so or permission from the courts?

When you reach the age of majority, absent unusual circumstances such as you're being under a guardianship due to a mental disability, you can choose where you live without interference from your parents. (Well, they can try to interfere. ;))
