Can a 15-Year-Old Legally Move Away from Home
My question involves guardianship in the State of: Virginia
I'm 15 and I've been raised by a single parent my whole life. Me and him have never been close and besides him buying me some of the stuff I live off of and giving me a place to live. He is hardly a dad to me. Me and him can literally never have a conversation without me getting yelled at to the point to where I'm crying and he just goes on and on. About everything. And I've stood up to him before and it only results in him getting in my face asking for me to punch him so that he can hit me. He ended up pushing me last time this happened and I didn't even touch him. But this has been going on for years. Over time it's gotten worse and worse. It's to the point to where I feel like I can't do this anymore. This isn't just some teenager that hates her parents because they won't buy her something. This is pretty serious.
Okay now that you somewhat know my situation, is there any way I could move out with a family member or really close family friend? I could probably somehow find a way to get his consent. I just want to know if it is legally possible even though I'm 15. I can't do this for much longer I need to get away before things get any worse.

    Re: Moving Out Young Legally
Based on what you have presented you have no chance of accomplishing this on your own. You said he might consent, that is where you can start.

If you're being abused, you need to call child services or the police.

You cannot leave home without permission from your father.
