Petitioning for Joint Custody

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: AL

My soon-to-be ex-husband and I have been separated since January and we both are now in other relationships. We are in the process of an uncontested divorce but he is now asking me for joint custody. This is my concern..... his girlfriend is already living with him, whereas, the guy I am dating lives over an hour away. If my relationship continues to grow and I eventually move there to be with him, can my "husband" prevent that move if he has joint custody? Please advise.

He would have the right to challenge any relocation whether he has joint custody or not. That doesn't make any difference.
