What to Do if Your Lawyer Can't Attend Your Trial
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: oklahoma.
I received a motion to modify in my child custody case about a month ago. I hired a lawyer to represent me about a week before my court date. He was supposed to get me unsupervised visits and we are unsure, but we think the motion to modify is for child support. The real problem is that my lawyer had a previous trial set for the same day so he asked my ex-husbands lawyer for a continuance. His lawyer then waited till the day I was supposed to have my witnesses and exhibits in to deny the continuance. So now I have no lawyer, no witnesses, and no exhibits and I have court tomorrow. What can I do? Is there any way the judge can overrule the non-continuance if I explain the situation?

Why isn't your lawyer filing a motion for a continuance?
