How to Become an Emancipated Minor
I am about to turn 16 in 13 days and i have been thinking about becoming an emancipated minor. I have done research but i am still far away from actually putting it all together. My parents don't understand me anymore and i think i would do much better on my own.
My grades are decent and i do have ways to make money. My parents aren't letting me get a job but i'm into buying things online than selling them for a profit. If i do get emancipated I will get 2 jobs. I do online school now so school really isn't a problem. could someone please help me and give me legal advice.
Re: How to Become an Emancipated Minor
You have no chance of getting emancipated in any time frame close to where you are now. As intelligent as you seem to think you are, you cannot even Google the laws for your state to determine this. Hopefully, by the time you are 18, you will be smart enough to.
Re: How to Become an Emancipated Minor
Since you did not follow the rules and provide your state, all we can give you is general advice.
Not all states will emancipate a minor. Of those states that will, emancipation does not always grant you the right to move out. In those states which will, you must have a PROVEN history of self-support. That means you must ALREADY been paying 100% of what it costs to support yourself - rent, food, clothing, utilities, medical care, transportation, insurance, etc. before a court will even look at your petition.
Nor do you have anything that even remotely resembles a valid reason for a court to consider emancipating you.
Emancipation is not and never was intended to be a means for a teen to move out. It was and is intended to be a means of providing legal protections to those minors who, for reasons outside their own control, found themselves living on their own.

YOU GUYS!
Please don't respond to spam. Please definitely do not quote it.
We have some nicely streamlined tools to allow us to vaporize bushels of spam and ban the miscreants at once, but if you respond to it or quote it, you could end up as collateral damage and accidentally banned in the batch. Then THAT becomes a whole big thing.
Please report it and move on. The spammers don't read your responses anyway.
